Your class plugs a powerbank into the device. In about 30 seconds it takes one reading of your bin, sends it to the dashboard, and switches off. That's it — one plug, one reading.
The sensor under the lid measures the empty space between the lid and the top of the rubbish — the same technology as a car parking sensor. The dashboard turns that space into a percentage, so you can see how full your bin is.
Every reading joins your class history graph. Watch the line over the term: is your bin filling slower as your class wastes less? You can compare your class with the school average too.
